Fugitive Friday: Watsonville

The year-old program is searching for a wanted drug user and a wanted thief, both from Watsonville.

Featuring wanted fugitives in local media has resulted in 95 arrests in the past year, the Sheriff's Office announced this week.

Patch launched Fugitive Friday a year ago. Each week the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, police departments from Santa Cruz, Scotts Valley, Capitola, Watsonville and UC Santa Cruz, as well as the California Highway Patrol, State Parks and State Parole would feature people wanted in their jurisdiction.

More than-third of the criminals listed in Fugitive Friday have been arrested, according to the Sheriff's Office. Since Jan. 19, 2011, 267 individuals have been featured and a total of 95 warrants have been cleared.
