Teen's Birthday Wish? People Sign Up to Be Organ Donors

Robbie Carroll is honoring his late father in this moving YouTube video.

Robbie Carroll turned 14 last week, the first birthday the Watsonville boy has celebrated since his father, Patrick, died.

To mark his birthday and remember his dad, Robbie made this YouTube video urging people to sign up to be organ donors.

April 10, 2012, of complications from a heart transplant he had received the prior month. Patrick was born with a congenital heart defect that limited his activity and worsened over time. He was put on the transplant list in December 2010.

The Carrolls—including mom, Samantha, and daughter, Jazzy—live in Watsonville. The community got to know Patrick's story from countless fundraisers and the Facebook page dedicated to Patrick's heart transplant, Patrick's Long Road Ahead.
