Watsonville Gang Members Arrested
Authorities arrested members of known street gangs in separate incidents, one involving a firearm.
Two gang members with connections to Watsonville were arrested in separate incidents on Wednesday night.
Watsonville Police arrested Jose Navarro, 18, after witnesses reported seeing him with a gun in his car. A search of the vehicle revealed a .22 caliber rifle in the passenger's seat.
Navarro surrendered peacefully and was booked into Santa Cruz County Jail. He was also charged with participating in a known street gang, police said.
Juan Soto Gonzalez was arrested for fighting in a public place and being a member of a known street gang. Gonzalez, a 23-year-old field worker from Watsonville, was arrested by sheriff's deputies in Yuba by sheriff's deputies and transported back to Santa Cruz County Jail.
