- A broad coalition of Santa Cruz and Monterey County union leaders and community activists, representing families and working people hard hit by a sluggish economy, came together in March for the “Community in Crisis” forum in Watsonville. The forum, meant to mobilize the community to find solutions, was made into a television documentary, and will be cablecast on Community TV cable channels 27 and 73.
In the documentary, a panel of community leaders offers insight and support for the parade of citizens who stepped up to the microphone sharing their stories of frustration and indignation over endless foreclosures, too-high medical costs, education cuts, and staggering unemployment.
