The Agriculture History Project broke ground on the new Borina Tractor Barn this month.

A collection of about 30 historic tractors won't go out to pasture, thanks to donors and the .

The organization broke ground on a new tractor barn a week ago and, on Wednesday morning, held a gold shovel ceremony to commemorate the project.

The $600,000 Borina Tractor Barn will stand amid the other Agriculture History Project displays at the . Like the organization's other displays, the tractor barn will include educational information about the refurbished tractors, all of which worked  Pajaro Valley fields before their owners retired the machines and donated them.

The tractor barn's main donor and namesake is the Borina Foundation. Laura Rider, president of the Ag History Project, said her group is about two-thirds of the way through fundraising.
