City, Hospital Both Have Job Openings

Dreary weather doesn't dampen job prospects.

Truth be told, it was tough finding job openings for this week's column, but there is some work to be had out there. Even better, there's a from 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday at that will have more openings to chose from.

  • is looking to hire for several positions from case management registered nurse, director of emergency department and echo/vascular technologist to registered nurse in the emergency room.   • , in business since 1922, seeks a telecommunications engineer. The exact duties include designing and maintaining the company's web media system. Applicants should have experience and be savvy in the way of IT innovations as well as standards. Also, candidates are required to have a bachelor's of science in information systems, computer science or a related field, as well as a minimum of four years relevant experience with computer media systems, including conferencing and Cisco and Juniper network equipment.   • The city of Watsonville is hiring a literary assistant. The salary offers competitive pay ranging from $15.20-$19.40. The job duties entail assisting youth and students with after-school homework in addition to providing help with the development, planning, organizing and coordinating and programming of related activities. Applicants should be familiar with principles, techniques and practice methods for reading literacy, homework assistance as well as computer literacy. Also, candidates should be able to lead adult instruction and be effective when working independently. The job, catalogued as a temporary, part-time position, pays $20 per game and offers more than 1,000 hours per fiscal year. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Interested applicants should be able to execute job requirements, such as explaining or enforcing rules as a referee, settling disputes, maintaining a safe play environment and attending meetings.
