Eat Free on Thanksgiving

Enjoy a complimentary dinner and the fellowship of neighbors at one of these free holiday meals Thursday.

The generosity of the community is one thing Watsonville residents can be thankful for this year.

Four free community Thanksgiving meals will be served Thursday to those in need: of food or just camarderie for the holiday. Two will be put on by nonprofits and two hosted by local restaurants.

, a Watsonville favorite, in the heart of downtown. Swingtime owners Peggy Triplitt, Liz Silva and chef Antonette Wood will set up their homecooked meal in on Main Street.

"It's a gathering," Triplitt said. "You don't have to be down-and-out. We'd like to invite the whole community to come out."

This will be the third year the Swingtime crew puts on the free meal. They're planning to serve 1,000 people—the same as the prior two years.

There are three other free dinners in South County on Thanksgiving.

  • , a new Pajaro restaurant, will welcome people for dinner from 1-4 p.m. It's located at 7 San Juan Rd. in Pajaro.
