The 17th-annual Strawberry Festival headlines a busy week of activities in Watsonville.
Where/When: City Plaza, W Beach St & Main St, Watsonville, CA 95076, Saturday and Sunday, 10 am to 7 pm.
Why Go: The 17th annual Watsonville Strawberry Festival at Monterey Bay will be held in downtown Watsonville this weekend. Come enjoy live music, local arts and crafts and, of course, yummy strawberry cuisine.

Why Go: The Community Bridges WIC Breastfeeding Awareness Walk is one of many similar Walks planned across California to promote the health benefits of breastfeeding and childhood obesity prevention. The Walks are sponsored by The California WIC Association, the California Breastfeeding Coalition and the California Department of Public Health. The walk will begin at 5 pm and take participants around the plaza for the hour-long walk. Come out downtown, support the cause and get an evening workout in for good measure.

Where/When: Race start line is at Alexander and Union streets in downtown Watsonville. Start time for the first race is 3:30 pm on Saturday. The final race begins at 5:20 pm.
Why Go: The inaugural cycling race coincides with the annual Strawberry Festival in Watsonville. Sponsored by California Giant Berry Farms, the race will feature over 200 cyclists as they buzz through the streets of Watsonville.

Why Go: Join Watsonville Wetlands Watch for an old-fashioned picnic/potluck at Tarplant Hill on Saturday to celebrate summer, enjoy good food and take a plant walk to see native plants

Where/When: Pajaro Valley Golf Club, 967 Salinas Rd., Royal Oaks, 8 a.m. on Friday. Lunch and awards begin at 12:30 p.m.
Why Go: Golf fans can enjoy an old-style Country Club style course during a fun-filled morning of golf.
Pricing: $125 per player; spectators free.
