Harvesting Summer’s Bounty

Watsonville Certified Farmer's Market is teeming with fresh summer produce!

This week at the Watsonville Certified Farmers Market shoppers will find a beautiful bounty of summertime fruits and veggies.

  • Schletewitz Fruit Factory has a delightful array of sweet summer fruit to choose from: freestone peaches, earthy nectarines, plump plums, oranges, lemons, limes and more. There is a veritable rainbow of fruit to choose from!
  • Universal Organics is stocked with fresh, organic veggies: baby carrots, broccoli, little gems (mini romaine), several varieties of summer squash, as well as strawberries, blackberries and melons.
  • As usual, KT Farms has a unique variety of local veggies with an exotic flare: Thai basil, fresh mint, sugar cane, Chinese spinach, and Asian cucumbers, just to name a few.
  • Agular Farms is up to their ears in corn! Sweet and yellow corn, crisp and delicious, ready to toss on the grill. Other offerings include peanuts, peas, green beans, onion and potatoes.
  • Aula Farm stand has some beautiful herbs; basil, dill, cilantro, and chives, as well as celery, carrots, green onions, garlic and spinach.

Stay tuned for next week’s debut of summer’s most anticipated fruit—tomatoes!

Shopping at the farmers market is a wonderful way to connect with your community, support local farmers and eat seasonally.
