New Santa Cruz Warriors Mascot Mav'Riks to Benefit Second Harvest

Individuals who make a $5 donation will get a chance to win two pairs of Santa Cruz Warriors tickets, according to Steve Bennett, development director for Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Cruz County.

The new mascot for the Santa Cruz Warriors is scheduled to appear 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday Dec. 21 at the Second Harvest Food Bank location at Capitola Mall, a food bank spokesman said Thursday.

Mav'Riks the Sea Turtle was recently chosen in a contest to represent the NBA Development League team.
