The city of Watsonville celebrated Veterans Day with a special presentation honoring all of those who have served in the military.

Over a hundred people piled into the Veterans Hall in Watsonville on Sunday morning for Veterans Day to honor the men and women who have served in the United States military

Local city and state officials such Assemblymember Luis Alejo, Watsonville mayor Eduardo Montesino, and chief of police Manny Solano were on hand along with members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars like Cmdr. David Ambriz and American Legion member Cmdr. Doug McKinney.

Also during the ceremony, two Hero-Awards were handed out to Robert W. Fiorilla and Sam Sugidono for their service recognition and courage on the battlefield. A Dedication Award was handed out by Bill Neighbors to Tony Rojas. Those who know Rojas recognize him as the Bugler.

The Watsonville Band was also on hand and played military songs for the special occasion and Diana Bonanno entertained the crowd with her voice as she sang "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America."
