Rating restaurants and dry cleaners seems like the norm on Yelp!, but there are far more entertaining reviews if you delve into the "Local Flavor" section of the website.
No. 1 on the list is Highway 152, the narrow, winding mountain road that connects Watsonville to Gilroy.
The highway gets four-and-a-half out of five stars for ... something?
"In a nutshell it's another asphalt maze that's well paved with quick turns that are strung together, cambered, and nothing but a joy on a hot day," Jeffrey C. wrote in 2009.
Highway 152 is just over 104 miles long, running from Watsonville to Highway 99, southeast of Merced.
Most of the reviews mentioned 152's importance as a connector from the Central Coast to Interstate 5 in the Central Valley.
"I remember when we met. I was 15 and I was in the backseat of the car. My mom was driving, I was riding, and we were going down south," Jenn T. wrote in a review that more closely resembled a love letter to the highway.
"Get your brain out of the gutter, 152, my mom was driving me to a soccer tourney in Southern California," she continued.
The Yelp! reviews offer some traffic-beating tips and sing praises for the road's vistas.
Eli L., a Watsonville man who was driving the highway to work daily, said he never tired of it. He made one request of sightseers and those squeamish about all the tight corners: "please use the turnouts."
