Every Sunday, the Farmers Market takes over Pajaro Valley High School. The farmers market will take place from 10am to 3pm but there is also a flea market which goes from 8am until 4pm, year round. This is where local farmers, food, arts and crafts, entertainers and shops come together.

FREE = $5.00 TO GET IN AND PARK !
Jennifer Squires August 09, 2011 at 06:12 PM
You're right. Free to attend. Pay to park. I updated the announcement.

$5.00 is waaaaaay too much to park !! Farmer's Markets should be FREE to encourage people to buy healthy local produce !! IF you must, charge to get into the Flea Market ,but not the Farmer's Market !!

Kathy Bohlin your cheap

Kathy Bohlin - You are right and you are not cheap, just thrifty. 5.00 for a farmers market would go a long way towards my grocery bill. I drop in at many farmers' markets and this is the only one that it would cost me to attend - so I have never attended. I have never understood flea markets that charge to attend either. If I were a seller, that would be discouraging. Possibly the best flea market around is the De Anza flea market in Cupertino and they do not charge for parking.

According to the announcements from the Brown Bererts they are responsible for putting on the farmers market. If so I would recommend that everyone stay away from this event buy this racist organization. In their flyer they stated that 'Mexicano Farm Workers' would receive free produce and merchandise(parkinging too) at the market. What about the rest of us? How is this fair?
Paul Sanders III January 06, 2013 at 08:25 PM
The Brown Berets are collecting the parking charge and it goes into their pockets as the lot is on public(school) land. It's 100% profit for them. I would ask everyone to boycott this racist organization.

This is how they can afford to give away things to their fellow 'Mexicanos'. The Brown Berets will also be giving away, to Mexicanos only, over 100 bikes according to their flyer. I wonder where they got 100 bikes to give away?

The Watsonville Brown Berets are disturbing a pamphlet that clearly states they are the new backers of the farmers market. They also clearly state that if you are of the correct race on the 13th of jan 2013 everything is FREE! I thought such practices were illegal in this country.

For those who are complaining about $5.00 you are some cheap ass people. If you go to the SC flea Market or the one in San Jose you have to pay for parking. This event is a Farmers / Flea Market. For $5.00 people you get to shop and eat some good food and see a concert. The event caters to all people NOT just Mexican people. The event is now moved to the SC Fairgrounds as of February 3rd. So instead of judging and complaining about $ 5.00 come out and support this event that happens to help out a lot people.
