Grab and Go Kids Planner: Free Goods, A Puppet Show and a Memorial Day Parade

Take your child to the free goods exchange so they can get a new book or toy, see a puppet show about pollution, walk in the wetlands, remember La Plaza Vigil, or go to a Memorial Day parade—our suggestions for this week's Kids Planner.

Where/When:, Peck St & Main St. Friday, 2:30-4:30 p.m. 

Why Go: As the name implies, it's a free-for-all. Free for all to bring things and get things as part of this exchange. You donate some useable items; you get to see what you might find that you can bring home. Books, videos, utensils, children's things are the most sought-after items. If it rains, the event is cancelled.

Where/When:  7850 Pole Line Road, Saturday, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (at the amphiteater next to the Mt. Madonna Park office.)

Why Go: This puppet show aims to help children understand the effects of population by talking about pollution from the perspective of Lucien. Lucien and his puppet firends look at how pollution hurts parks and wildlife. It's interactive and fun for everyone.

Where/When: , 15 E Beach St., Sunday, 12-6 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate the anniversary of La Plaza Vigil and enjoy live music, prizes and much more.  La Plaza Vigil has come a long way and that does deserve a bit of a party!

Where/When: , 500 Harkins Slough Rd. Sunday, 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: Maybe you have done this before. But that doesn't mean you can't do it again. Meet at the Nature Center for a guided walk in nearby wetlands. All ages are welcome. Binoculars will be provided.
