Man Leads Officers on Hours-Long Car and Foot Chase Through South Santa Cruz County

Ralph Brooks, 46, allegedly continued to run after crashing his car into an apple tree.

A Morgan Hill man led officers from four law enforcement agencies on an hours-long car and foot chase today through south Santa Cruz County before finally being apprehended, according to the Register Pajaronian.

Police in Morgan Hill began pursuing Ralph Brooks, 46, shortly before noon after they responded to a domestic disturbance call. Brooks fled from police in a stolen van, according to the Register Pajaronian.

After a series of dangerous maneuvers, twists and turns, Brooks crashed into an apple tree in Corralitos while Watsonville police were chasing him. He then took off on foot as the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department and the California Highway Patrol joined the pursuit.

He was arrested after fleeing on foot for two hours.
