Teen Stabbed, Refuses to Cooperate With Police

The assault happened Thursday evening near Ford and Walker streets.

An 18-year-old Watsonville resident was accosted by two people and stabbed multiple times Thursday evening, Watsonville police reported.

No arrests have been made. The young man is expected to recover from his injuries, police said. 

He was walking on Ford Street near Walker Street around 6:30 p.m. when two people approached him and attacked, police reported. The young man refused to provide any other information about the assault.

After stabbing him repeatedly, the pair of assailants fled. The young man phoned a relatives who drove him to Watsonville Community Hospital for treatment, police said.

The young man's injuries were not life-threatening, police said. 

Officers were alerted to the stabbing victim by hospital staff around 8 p.m. Investigators went to the area where the teen said he had been attacked and found the crime scene, police reported.

The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
