We all do it. Forget to mark our calendars for upcoming soccer league sign-ups, prom tickets or local business expos. There are so many events and opportunities in Watsonville that is can be hard to keep tabs on them all.

COMMUNITY
Today, Tuesday, April 24, is the last chance to nominate a resident of Capitola-Soquel for the prestigious Presidential Citizens Medal. This can be someone who volunteers to make their community a better place, or someone who goes above and beyond their regular call of duty to make the world a better place. In 2011, three of the 12 nationwide selectees.
SCHOOLS
Registration for Cabrillo College’s summer session began on April 24. While there is not currently an enrollment deadline, many courses fill up fast, so enroll now!
There are about 10 scholarships for local high school students with deadlines coming up at the end of April. Pajaro Valley High students can check out the list on the school's website HERE. Watsonville High students can go HERE to see a list and Aptos High students should look at their financial aid options HERE.
SPORTS
The , a benefit for Pajaro Valley Shelter Services, is May 13. The event includes a 10K run, 5K walk and a 1K kids run. The deadline to get the $25 entry (individual) or $60 (family) is Monday, April 30. Don't miss this great race!
