5 Things to Know about Watsonville This Week

There's a new U-Haul renter in town, teens are teaching their peers how to prevent dating violence and more.

Watsonville is hopping these days. Here are a few newsy bits that may be helpful for Patch readers this week.

  2. Women’s Crisis Support~Defensa de Mujeres has been putting on events throughout Santa Cruz County to create awareness around Teen Dating Violence. The mayor will sign a Teen Dating Violence Awareness Proclamation at 4 p.m. today (Wednesday).
  3. Also in honor National Teen Dating Violence Awareness and Prevention, there will be the of King of Hearts Rally at Watsonville High. The event will be put on by WCS~DdM staff and WHS students at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. They will do a skit and Mayor Eduardo Montesino plans to attend.

  5. It's Preteen Vaccination Week. What does that mean? It's a reminder to families of preteens about recommended and required immunizations for 11-and 12-year olds.
