Event of the Year:

The Relay For Life takes over the Watsonville High track every summer for a weekend-long fight against cancer. The fundraiser and memorial event draws hundreds of participants.

Organization of the Year:

CASA provides support services for youth in the foster care system. The organization trains volunteers who serve as mentors and advocates for the children. Last year, CASA opened a new house in Watsonville that serves as its office and a hub for the kids and advocates who work with the program.

Business of the Year:

Locally-owned Taylor's has been open for business in downtown Watsonville for decades.

Lifetime Achievement: Rhea De Hart

If you've been in Watsonville for more than a minute, you've probably come across De Hart in one of her many roles. A retired teacher, former school board member, planning commissioner, union leader and volunteer, De Hart may be the most active citizen in town.

The "At the Oscars"-themed awards dinner is Jan. 28—the 50th chambers annual awards dinner. Going Hollywood means "After 5 Attire" (the black tie is optional). Tickets are $65 per person.
