Biz Highlights: Props Opens Soon; Papa John's Is Coming

Also, a Watsonville-based janitorial company rated high in listing of fastest-growing businesses.

There are business developments in Watsonville every day. Here are some recent highlights:

  • Watsonville Airport staff told Patch that plans to open Monday, Aug. 27. The new airport restaurant was slated to start serving customers earlier in the summer, but got hung up in some red tape. That's all behind owner Andrew Crocker now and Props should open next week. There even is a planned for Thursday, Aug. 30.
  • A new Papa John's under construction in the Pajaro Plaza shopping center at Main Street and South Green Valley Road. No word yet on the date the pizzeria will open, though the Register Pajaronian has reported it should be befoe the end of the month. When the restaurant does start baking pizzas, it will be the first Papa John's in the county. 
  • , a janitorial service in Watsonville, made Inc. magazine's list of the 5,000 fast-growing companies in the United States. The company provides cleaning and other facility maintenance services for commercial, industrial and office buildings, and has other locations around the country.  Watsonville's Economic Development Manager Kurt Overmeyer said "they employ a number of people in Watsonville!"
  • opened an office in Watsonville and celebrated with a ribbon cutting earlier this month.
