Top 10 Companies with Job Openings Include Sears, AT&T Wireless

But local positions at those companies are sparse; here are some other job opportunities in the area.

Each week, AOL publishes a list of the top 10 companies hiring in the United States.

A couple giant corporations with local stores are on the list. Even though their Watsonville locations lack openings, there are jobs nearby.

No. 1: Toys'R'Us There are 11 positions being hired at the toy store in Santa Cruz.

No. 3: Sears There are three job openings at the Sears in Salinas and six at the Captiola Mall location. Click here to search the positions.

No. 6: AT&T The wireless company is hiring in Capitola, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Jose. Some of the positions are for bilingual applicants.

Some other employment opportunities in Watsonville this month are:

Bridgestone Retail Operations, LLC is looking for a tire consultant to do the customer service side of tire repair and sales in Watsonville. A high school diploma is required and a college education is preferred. The job comes with benefits. Here's a link to the listing on AOL Career Builder.

Sergio Sanchez from Rep. Luis Alejo's office sent in this job posting earlier this month.

Assemblymember Luis Alejo (D-28) seeks a Field Representative for the cities of Hollister, Gilroy, Morgan Hill and surrounding areas. The Field Representative serves as an official representative and liaison for the Assemblymember. Candidates must possess excellent verbal and written skills. An ideal candidate will be able to work efficiently, multi-task, and have knowledge of current events and state issues. A college degree is required. Salary commensurate with experience. Please submit all resumes, references, and inquiries to Sergio.Sanchez@asm.ca.gov

It's not in Watsonville, but for young people interested in how government works (and who have a car), this is a great way to get exposed to the process.
