Help Save the SC County Fairgrounds

Please, if you feel as strongly as I do about keeping our fairgrounds operating for the benefit of all of us, sign this petition and make your voice heard.

Earlier this year, Governor Brown eliminated state funding for all District Agricultural Associations (aka county fairgrounds), which means that .

If they don't they will have to close their doors and will no longer be able to host events for the communities they serve. Can you imagine losing our historical or the , who by itself employs several hundred people and brings thousands of dollars into our community?

Well that just may happen if those of us who care don't get involved quickly. There are a couple dozen residents who live near the fairgrounds who've decided THEY don't like the noise and  to essentially shut down our Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds completely. No more summertime Friday night races, no annual County Fair, no , no Christmas holiday craft shows, no quilt shows, no charity events like "Days of Wine & Roses or Rotary Club "Casino Nights," no circuses or carnivals, no , no horse shows or 4-H events, no future rodeos—no future ANYTHING.

Thank you, Cathy Perez
