End of Season Still Boasts Fresh Produce

Late-winter produce available at Watsonville Certified Farmers' Market.

As the end of the winter season approaches, fresh produce choices are slim, and many of us have succumbed to veggie boredom. But before you forgo fresh produce and head to the frozen-vegetable section at your grocery store, check out the Watsonville Certified Farmers' Market. The market still hosts a handful of die-hard vendors with fresh, locally grown produce during the cold season.

Organic grower Eleazar Juarez of Rio de Parra Farms will have an array of organic winter veggies—rainbow carrots, chard, radishes, early new potatoes and a beautiful mix of baby greens.

Schletewitz Family Farms/Fruit Factory will have delicious winter fruits and vegetable—oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, lemons and yams.
