Highway 1-Salinas Road Exit Closes Thursday
Use Highway 129 as an alternate route for the next week.
Avoid Salinas Road and Highway 1 beginning Thursday, Watsonville police advised.
Starting May 10, there will be one week of construction at the Santa Cruz-Monterey county line. The Salinas Road exit will be closed.

The area is undergoing build an overpass and on- and off-ramps to improve highway safety. The construction is on pace to conclude in early 2013, according to police Lt. Terry Traub.
