Marijuana Plants, 74 Pounds of Pot Seized in Raid

One man was arrested at the alleged grow house—a home on Roble Street in Watsonville.

Drug agents seized a massive amount of marijuana and arrested one man during a raid Wednesday on a pot grow house in Watsonville, authorities reported.

The county's Anti Crime Team served a search warrant at 718 Roble St. and arrested Cainin Wilkinson, 35, according to Sgt. Eric Montablo of the Watsonville Police Department.

Inside, they found 55 live marijuana plants and about 74 pounds of processed marijuana, according to Montablo. There also was about $10,000 in cash next to a commercial money-counting device, he reported.

The sophisticated marijuana cultivation operation included commercial grow lamps, automatic irrigation systems, ventilation systems and air conditioning units, according to police.

Investigators suspect Wilkinson was producing three to four crops in the house each year, and had been operating the grow house for about 18 months.
