Pajaro Valley Leaders Honored

The chamber honored community leaders and organizations for their work at a dinner. Here are videos that showcase the winners.

The Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce put on its annual award ceremony Jan. 31 at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds.

The 49th-annual banquet drew hundreds of guests—attendance was up 50 percent from a year ago—for the "Las Vegas Style" event. Several community leaders and organizations were honored for their work in the Watsonville area.

  • Man of the Year: Bill Moncovich
  • Woman of the Year: Jody Akimoto, president of the county fair board.

  • Event of the Year: 4th of July Flag Dedication.
  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Diane and Don Cooley.
