19th Annual Peace and Unity March Community Organizng Meeting

On Wednesday, September 30th at 6pm, the Peace and Unity Coalition will be hosting a community organizing meeting to plan Watsonville's 19th Annual Peace and Unity March. All those interested in learning about the march, social justice, community activism and participation are encouraged to come!

In 1994, youths from the communities of Watsonville organized the 1st Annual Peace and Unity March in order to address the on going violence in the community, particularly after the slaying of two young people ages 9 and 16.

Today, the Peace and Unity March is still organized by local youth, local community groups and the growing number of families who have lost loved ones to violence.

Peace and Unity March will take place on November 2nd, also known as Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. Details to be determined.
