Second Saturday on the Farm - Weaving and Spinning

Agricultural
History Project’s next Second Saturday On The Farm celebrates National Spinning
and Weaving Day on October 12, 11am –
3pm at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, Highway
152 outside Watsonville. This event is FREE! Donations appreciated.

This October 12th
Second Saturday features all different types of weaving demonstrations,
spinning, and animals whose fur and hair is used for making fabric. You'll be
able to see alpacas and sheep visiting for the day.

Kids will be able to try
out weaving as well as all kinds of activities such as driving the tractor,
pumping water, and playing with hoops.

We'll have demos on
weaving, and you can try weaving yourself - on a table loom, inkle loom,
cardboard loam and other fun tools!

We'll also be showing you
how to finger knit and braid.

Second Saturdays on the Farm, held every month, offer a chance to be

with a great community, and experience a little of the history of farming.  Each month focuses on a different aspect of
the farming experience and explores the history as well as activities for kids
and adults related to each topic.
