Plant Flowers For the County Fair

The Annual Flower Planting Day at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds is Wednesday.

The Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds on East Lake Avenue is 105 beautiful flower filled acres that seems to peak right about opening day of the annual September fair. This array of flowering beauty doesn’t happen by accident but starts with the flower planting day and that day is this Wednesday.

Anyone interested in spending a few short hours is encouraged to come out to the Fairgrounds and get a little dirt on their hands. Bring the family for what is a very nice way to spend  some quality time in a very beautiful setting. Oh and bring a garden tool along if you have one. The Heritage Foundation will serve the traditional hot dog dinner for all who help.

The Annual Flower Planting Day at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds is Wednesday, June 26, from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. The fairgrounds are located at 2601 East Lake Avenue, Watsonville. RSVPs are encouraged to ensure there is enough food for attendees. Please call (831) 742-5671.
