Say Boo! Halloween Events in Watsonville

The holiday fall mid-week this year, but there's plenty to do in and around the town today.

Halloween should be a little spooky but to avoid any big scares with your kids today, here are some local activities that should be safe and fun.

  • Haunted Hall at the G.H.W.R. Youth Center on Halloween Night
    The Haunted Hall at the GHWR Youth Center will be open from 6-8 p.m., but enter only if you dare. Youth center staff promises "Fog filled creepy dark halls, flashing strobe lights, and ghouls and ghosts hiding at every corner." The GHWR Youth Center is at 30 Maple Ave.
  • Treats at the Watsonville Police Activities League
    Watsonville PAL will be handing out fingerprinting kits and candy while supplies last, beginning at 2 p.m. PAL is at 130 Rodriguez St.
  • Trunk or Treat at Green Valley Christian Center
    The community outreach on Halloween night at Green Valley Christian is designed as a wholesome family friendly alternative to traditional trick or treating. Take part in carnival games, live music, coffee house, face painting and lots of candy

If you want to head out of town for the holiday, here are a couple events in the Aptos area.

  • Safe Halloween in Seascape Village. The event is from 4-8 p.m. Enjoy snacks, apple cider, Trick or Treating and spooky games in the Seascape Village, and bring a carved Jack O'Lantern to enter in the contest.
  • Trick or Treating at Deer Park Marketplace.Bring young trick-or-treaters to the Deer Park Marketplace. The Red Apple and other business will be handing out treats starting at 3 pm.

Continue the festive spirit tomorrow by marking Day of the Dead. There are community altar exhibits at the Pajaro Valley Arts Council gallery on Sudden Street and at both libraries.
