Last Chance to See Miracle On 34th Street performed at Park Hall, Fri Dec 21st & Sat Dec 22nd

This is a local community Theaters production of Miracle on 34th Street. It is the last weekend they are running.

Mountain Community Theater is closing its 30th anniversary season with Miracle On 34th Street, a jolly tale of hope and faith that proves that nothing is impossible, if you truly believe.

An adaptation of the 1947 motion film, Miracle On 34th Street takes place between Thanksgiving and Christmas Day in New York City. It begins when Kris Kringle stumbles upon an intoxicated Santa Claus who was meant to be the main attraction of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Soon Kris is handed the role of Santa Claus, and is so convincing he is asked to stay throughout the holiday season. Kris receives instructions to influence parents to buy surplus goods from Macy’s, but he ignores these commercial requests. Instead Kris’ focus is on the well-being of his customers and even goes so far as to say that he himself is the real Santa Claus. Before long Kris is classified insane and faces trial to prove that he is the “one and only” Santa Claus.

Miracle On 34th Street is a perfect finale to MCT’s 30th anniversary season, because it is an original piece written by founders of Mountain Community Theater. “MCT has the rights to the play. Theater companies all over the US and Canada perform Miracle and we get the royalties from it. This is really MCT’s signature play.” says director Wendy Edmonds.

With a sizeable cast of all ages Miracle On 34th   Street is sure to charm both children and adults alike. Starring Peter Gelblum as the one and only Kris Kringle, the show is sure to send audience home with regained optimism. “The show is about faith and believing in things even when common sense tells you not to.” says production manager and longtime MCT participant Frank Levy.

Do you believe? Will you believe? This charming holiday classic proves that dreams really can come true, if you open your heart and have faith in the impossible.

Miracle On 34th Street will perform at Park Hall, Ben Lomond, (next to the Ben Lomond Market on Mill Street) on Friday, December 21st and Saturday December 22nd at 8 PM.  Tickets ($17 for adults - $10 for children, students and seniors) will be available at the box office on performance days and online by visiting mctshows.org.
