The Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County invites you to serve your community on Make a Difference Day, this weekend. Each year, millions of busy Americans take action to improve their communities on Make A Difference Day, making it the largest single day of service in the United States. This year, is partnering with several non-profits and the City of Santa Cruz to offer a variety of service projects throughout the County. Projects include revitalizing community spaces, gardening, beautifying neighborhoods and event support, with several family friendly project options in the mix.

Watsonville residents should especially take note of a couple of awesome projects going on in our local community:
- Repainting and Refurbishing the Watsonville Volunteer Center, beginning at 11 a.m. at 12 Carr St. (across from ).
- A Graffiti Removal Paint Out on Green Valley Road.
Americorps members stationed in Watsonville have been working hard to organize the restoration project for the Volunteer Center and have all kinds of great prizes for participating volunteers. Any individual who volunteers at the Watsonville Volunteer Center Restoration project for more than 1 hour will be entered to win great prizes including a Miller's T-Shirt and giftcard, and a generous giftcard to La Buena Taqueria!

The Volunteer Center has set the goal of mobilizing over 250 local volunteers to support this day of action, so we hope you will be part of this wave of Santa Cruzian generosity by serving at a project that interests you!
