YouthSERVE Junior Volunteers Will Engage in a Summer Service Internship

Together, participants in the YouthSERVE Junior Volunteer Program will contribute over 1000 hours of community service this summer. Sign up today!

This summer, the YouthSERVE Junior Volunteer Program (A Program of the Santa Cruz Volunteer Center) will engage Watsonville youth in meaningful summer service internships at local non-profits. Youth will be placed, according to their skills and interests, to do valuable work in support of diverse causes, including hunger and homelessness, child development, arts and empowerment and animal care. Non-profit agencies are stepping up to provide rewarding placements and training for youth, so they can develop their skills in safe, enriching environments this summer. During the six week program, youth will work at their non-profit placement for three or four hours each day up to twelve hours per week. Youth will also participate in job readiness workshops and participate in educational service projects and field trips. The mission of the program is to help youth recognize their passions, share their unique talents and realize their capacity for transforming their community through meaningful service work. Youth will have fun while amplifying their voice and impact in Watsonville.
