Letter to the Editor: Available Commercial Properties in Watsonville

Ideas for business development in the aftermath of the Measure T defeat.

Written by Sam Earnshaw

Now that the issue of developing farmland for jobs and tax revenue has been rejected by Watsonville voters, people, including city officials, should look at the website www.growinwatsonville.com. It lists all the many vacancies (retail, shopping center, office, restaurant, warehouse, light industrial, Office/Mfg/warehouse, industrial, building, etc) in Watsonville.

Filling them would create jobs and tax revenues for the city.

Sam Earnshaw lives in Watsonville. He is a former farmer who was Program Coordinator for the Community Alliance with Family Farmers, and currently works on conservation and habitat issues on farms throughout California.
