The next public meeting of the Watsonville Youth City Council, chaired by Mayor, Dulce Sixtos, will be on Monday, February 11 at 5:00 pm in the Watsonville City Hall Council Chambers.

The Watsonville Youth City Council has been working hard on three important issues, uniting youth with police, city staff and education leaders. Please join the council for updates on these topics and bring your ideas, solutions and concerns:

2. City Budget - The Youth City Council is investigating issues related to development, jobs and environmental concerns affecting  the future of Watsonville. They have endorsed a proposal by the Interact Clubs from Watsonville, Pajaro Valley and Ceiba High Schools to raise the acheivement of 2nd and 3rd graders in Watsonville.

3. Public Safety - The Council is taking a deeper look at the results of their youth safety survey and working with the Watsonville Police Department on ways youth and police can work together to make Watsonville a safer place to live.

Why is this play time meeting so better covered than the real city meetings where millions are sent down the toliet every year?

This is a great program that grows future leaders. There should be more coverage of young people doing positive things. Too often when there is coverage of the young members of our community it relates to tragedies and trouble.
