Watsonville's Stephanie Serrano-Osorio Loses Battle With Cancer

Her memorial service is 11am today at Resurrection Catholic Church in Aptos.

Stephanie Serrano-Osorio, 33, died Nov. 5 after a two-year battle with inflammatory breast cancer.

Serrano-Osorio, a wife and mother of two, earned a nursing degree from Cabrillo College in 2010. She was an avid runner, and continued to train and race despite her health issues.

After her cancer diagnosis, friends and family came together to participate in the Relay for Life, a fundraiser for cancer research and, to date, have raised more than $10,000 in her name. Many "Team Steph" members plan to continue to run in Serrano-Osorio's memory.

She leaves behind her husband, Christopher Osorio; children Malia and Miles; and many other relatives and friends.

Her memorial serive is 11 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Catholic Church in Aptos. In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been setup for Christopher and Stephanie's children at Santa Cruz County Bank, Watsonville Branch, 595 Auto Center Dr. Watsonville, CA 95076.
