WATSONVILLE — State elections officials are investigating the group that promoted Watsonville’s Measure T last year after a local activist accused the group of making several errors on required campaign filings.

California Fair Political Practices Commission spokesman Jay Wierenga declined to comment on the case, citing the ongoing investigation.

Speaking generally about such cases, however, he said that each violation, if found to be true, could bring fines of as much as $5,000. Violators could also be issued a warning letter. In any case, the violation will remain on their record and considered if another incident occurs.
