Watsonville City Council Runs Unopposed

Watsonville City Council: Last 4 Councilors ran unopposed and win with few votes

In the 2012 Watsonville city council all four candidates ran unopposed. No one ran against them. They all won with very low vote counts. Instead of district elections promoting more voters it has created voter apathy in Watsonville.

It is time for Watsonville council elections again. You have between July 4th and August 8th to submit. Dont let these incumbents run unopposed again. Throw your hat in the ring and run for city council. Watsonville needs Business people in the council. It is surprising to see Council member Trina Coffman-Gomez ( who is a realtor) vote in favor of putting a 95 bed homeless shelter in Downtown Watsonville. Way to go Gomez! Helping those landlords get zero profit on their real estate. Seems like most council members just go with the flow. Stop the flow of poverty being pushed on Watsonville and run for city council. Hurry! Four of those who ran unopposed last time, now sit on the council and will be running again, dont let them run without a fight. These four Watsonville City council members below won a seat on the city council because no one else ran! Then Karin Cervantez-Alejo was made Mayor as soon as she on the council. She has no qualifications to be Mayor other than favoritism.
