Armed Trio Robs Castroville Store

Monterey County Sheriff's deputies are on the hunt for three Hispanic men who committed two armed robberies on Thursday.

Three men are on the run from the law after committing two armed robberies on Thursday morning.

They started at Oak Park Market in Salinas at 8:39 a.m., where at least one gun was shown to the clerk. The men made off with just a bottle of Crown Royal. They were unable to get cash from the register, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

Twenty minutes later, the same men robbed the Elkhorn Superette in Castroville, this time flashing two semi-automatic pistols, the Sheriff's Office said. There they were able to take alcohol, cash and the clerk's wallet.
