Police: Bullets Fly, Miss Targets

Police say the Sunday night shooting was gang-related.

A teenager riding a bike tried to gun down two men on Hill Avenue on Sunday evening, but missed his targets then eluded cops, Watsonville police reported.

Police say the shooting was gang-motivated. It happened just before 7:45 p.m.

The teen had been riding on Hill Avenue when the two men, ages 33 and 38, pulled up in front of their house and got out of their car. The teen stopped near the house and fired four shots, police reported.

The bullets didn't strike the men, but one pierced the windshield and a rear window of their car, according to police.

The shooter rode north up the road to get away. He was about 17-19 years old, wearing dark pants and a black hooded sweatshirt. Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to call the Crime Tip Line at 768-3544 or the Investigations Bureau at 763-6352.
