Cabrillo Locked Down While Deputies Arrest Student
Aptos campus has a brief security alert Monday when a student reportedly made death threats.
Santa Cruz sheriff's deputies initiated a school lockdown Monday after discovering a man on a college campus who had made death threats toward students and employees.
Deputies learned Friday that Nigel Self made death threats toward students, employees and officials of Cabrillo College, at 6500 Soquel Dr., in Aptos.
Self, 45, was a student of the college and involved in an ongoing argument with college officials, deputies said.

Around noon Monday, deputies learned that Self was on the campus and feared he would attempt to carry out his threats. Deputies immediately locked all classrooms for safety purposes, sheriff's officials said.
Deputies found Self within 10 minutes and arrested him without incident, sheriff's officials said.
