Hash Oil Lab Discovered During Gang Fight Call

Two men were arrested and more than 4 pounds of marijuana was seized.

A fight that may have involved a gun led responding officers into a suspected hash oil manufacturing lab on Westwind Court on Friday afternoon, Watsonville police reported.

Two men were arrested in connection with the fight, which was possibly gang related, and the hash operation, police said.

It began around 3:42 p.m. when 9-1-1 reports came in about a fight and a man armed with a gun. When officers got to Westwind Court, they detained people in a garage and driveway of a home, police reported.

Officers also discovered the suspected drug operation.

Paulino Sanchez, 32, and Miguel Sanchez, 25, were arrested on charges related to the fight while Cpl. Tom Corral began investigating the marijuana manufacturing case. He found concentrated cannabis (hash), 4.5 pounds of marijuana and a number of empty chemical cans, police reported.

The two men were booked into County Jail on  the additional crime of manufacturing concentrated cannabis.
