Man Accused of Exposing Self to Young Girls at Middle School

Watsonville police say the man has previous arrests on record for the same offense.

By Bay City News:

A 26-year-old man was arrested this week after several girls claimed he exposed himself to them while on the grounds of a middle school in Watsonville, police said.

Andres Arias Gonzalez was taken into custody Tuesday in the area of East Lake Avenue and Tuttle Avenue after one of the victims identified him as the person who exposed himself to her, police said.

The girl was among several other female students at Edward A. Hall Middle School, at 201 Brewington Ave., who reported seeing an adult male acting in a lewd manner on school property, police said.

After arresting Gonzales police found that he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for indecent exposure in August 2013, had a second prior arrest on suspicion of the offense and an arrest on suspicion of sexual battery, according to police.

Police booked the suspect into Santa Cruz County Jail and contacted a judge, who increased Gonzales' bail due to his prior arrests, police said.

Anyone with information about the incidents in the case or about other related incidents is being urged to contact the Watsonville Police Department at (831) 728-3544 or (831) 768-3350.
