Man Injured in Pajaro Shooting Thursday Night

An unknown suspect shot a man while he was sitting in his vehicle.

A man was injured during a shooting in Monterey County Thursday night, according to the Monterey County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting at 10:29 p.m. near the vicinity of 12 Gonda St. in the census-designated place of Pajaro, located near Watsonville, according to sheriff's deputies.

The victim told police he had been sitting inside his vehicle, when an unknown suspect approached the vehicle and shot him through the rear window of his vehicle.

A relative drove the victim to Watsonville Community Hospital for treatment of a bullet wound, according to deputies.

No suspects have been arrested and the motive for the shooting
remains under investigation, according to deputies.
