Man Pleads No Contest To Recording Girls in Watsonville Through Spy Pen

A former San Jose choir teacher accused of secretly recording teen girls undressing through a spy pen pleaded no contest on Thursday.

Aldrin Jayson Nicolas, 26, was arrested in April after girls found a pen that contained a camera while in the bathroom on a class trip to Pajaro Dunes Vacation Rentals in Watsonville, reported the Santa Cruz Sentinel Friday.

On Thursday, Nicolas pleaded no contest to three felony counts of creating child pornography, in addition to two misdemeanors of unlawful invasion of the girls’ privacy and evesdropping.

Nicolas won’t be sentenced until April 25, during which time he could receive a maximum sentence of five years behind bars. He will also have to register as a sex offender for life.
