Man Robs Freedom Boulevard Jewelry Store

The clerk of Ideal Jewelry store was threatened and robbed by a man Tuesday afternoon.

, located at 1481 Freedom Boulevard, was robbed Tuesday afternoon after a man approached the store clerk demanding money, a Watsonville Police Department release stated.

Police responded to an activated panic/robbery alarm device at 12:24 p.m. on Tuesday and upon their arrival learned that an actual robbery had taken place.

The suspect entered the store alone demanding cash from the clerk who in turn handed over an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect, described as a thin Latino man in his 20s who was wearing black sweatpants and a black sweatshirt, fled the scene running west on Arthur Road, the release stated.

The man reportedly threatened the clerk with a gun, although a gun was never seen.

A search took place after the robbery, but the man has yet to be found. Police are asking for anyone with information regarding the robbery to call the WPD Investigations Bureau at 768-3350. Those who wish to remain anonymous, can call 768-3544
