Masked Robbers Hit Up Man, Fire Shots

No one was hurt in robbery early Saturday; police have yet to make arrests.

Shots were fired during a robbery near early Saturday, but no injuries were reported, according to Watsonville police.

Two masked gunman accosted a man walking on Second Street near Menkner Street just after midnight, pointed guns at him and robbed him of cash and other items early Saturday, police reported.

The robbers fired two shots before fleeing in a green truck, according to police.

Officers found the robbery victim on Main and Second streets around 12:15 a.m.

"I was listening to my scanner and I heard something interesting," Staton reported to Watsonville Patch, recounting similar information to what police released Saturday morning. 

"Two men left in a green truck and two suspects were caught a short time later," Staton said. "Of course, I don't know whether that was really them, and of course some of this information could be wrong."

Police said they haven't made any arrests. They ask anyone with information about the robbery to call the Investigations Bureau at 768-3350 or the Crime Tip Line at 768-3544.
