Four people were injured in the Wednesday morning collision near Aromas.

The four-vehicle collision on San Juan Road between Aromas and Pajaro on Wednesday seriously injured two people, Cal Fire reported.

The crash happened about 8:25 a.m., and halted westbound traffic for hours while crews worked to clean up the scene. A semi-truck and trailer crashed into a ditch on the side of the road, breaking the front axle of the truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Four people were hurt. Two had serious injuries, one suffered moderate injuries and a fourth had minor injuries, Cal Fire reported. They were taken by ground ambulances to area hospitals.

Aromas Tri County Fire Protection District was assisted by North County Fire, CHP, AMR and County Roads to handle the collision.
