Police Blotter: Car Stolen, Alarm Scares Off Home Burglar

Also, a man busted with methamphetamine gave cops a fake name.

Watsonville Police Log, Wednesday, June 6

12:13 a.m.—A man was arrested for being drunk in public on the 500 block of East Lake Avenue.

Tuesday, June 5

8:37 a.m.—A car burglar smashed a vehicle window and stole items. It happened overnight on the 100 block of Landis Avenue.

9:01 a.m.—A 50-year-old woman was ticketed for a warrant on the 100 block of West Lake Avenue.

9:53 a.m.—A teenager was arrested for a felony warrant on the 100 block of Riverside Drive. She was taken to Juvenile Hall.

Monday, June 4

5:24 a.m.—A man parked his 1996 Acura Integra at Motel 6 at 11 p.m. At 4:30 a.m., he discovered the black, two-door car gone even though he still had his keys.

8:23 a.m.—Vandals smashed two windows on the 100 block of Brennan Street.

11:45 a.m.—A vehicle was vandalized on the 400 block of East Beach Street.

4:37 p.m.—ID theft was reported. The man said his Social Security number has been used in other states to get jobs and receive pay.

8:35 p.m.—A man was arrested for having methamphetamine and giving police a phony name. It happened in a storage unit on Westgate Drive.

8:59 p.m.—A 39-year-old man was arrested for being drunk in public on the 100 block of Main Street.

10:40 p.m.—A young man walked into the USA Gas on the 1900 block of Freedom Boulevard and stole two 30-packs of beer. He left in a gray four-door car.

Sheriff's Office Log, June 5

1:06 p.m.—A would-be burglar smashed a rear window on a Lakeview Road home and pulled out the window frame. The home alarm system sounded, which apparently scared off the burglar. It's the second burglary at the home in a year.

4:15 p.m.—A burglar broke into a Calabasas Road house sometime after 8 a.m. by kicking in the interior garage door. The burglar went into a bedroom and ransacked some dresser drawers, but didn't take anything. Sometime night have scared off the burglar.

May 27

7:30 a.m.—Costume jewelry was stolen from a unlocked home on Golf View Road. The jewelry was worth $600.

May 23

5 p.m.—A bike was stolen from the garage of a Hames Road home.
