A gunman fired shots at a house with four young children inside late Saturday in rural Watsonville, a shooting that investigators have classified as gang-related, accoridng to sheriff's deputy April Skalland.
The drive-by shooting happened around 10:16 p.m. on the 200 block of Hathaway Drive, off Green Valley Road. The couple and their four children, all younger than 10, were home when they heard heard loud bangs but weren't sure what they were, Skalland said.
Then the mom noticed a bullet hole in the front door. She waited a few minutes, then went outside but didn't see anyone, Skalland said. The family and deputies later found three more bullet holes, all in cars parked in front of the home.
No one was hurt.
Investigators suspect the shooting could have a gang connection and forwarded the case to the county's Gang Task Force.
